President Kiir receives security updates from state leaders

President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday briefed by the Central Equatoria State Governor, Augustino Jadalla Wani, Lakes State Governor, Rin Tueny Mabor, and Chief Administrator of Abyei, Dr. Choo Deng Alay regarding the security situation in their respective areas.

Governor Jadalla highlighted his recent engagements with locals in Kajo-Keji, Lainya, Yei River, and Morobo counties and the Wonduruba administrative area, reporting that the situation is calm despite the recent pockets of insecurity.

Jadalla revealed on Monday in a statement posted on the Facebook page of the presidential press unit.

He also said that water tank drivers have resumed operation following the recent standoff over water prices.

The Central Equatoria State government agreed with water tank drivers to charge 4000 South Sudan Pounds per drum of water in the city.

Dr. Chol Deng Alak, the Chief Administrator of Abyei Administrative Area while addressing the press, called on the national government to assist people affected by flooding in Abyei Administrative Area.

President Kiir reassured the three leaders of his government’s commitment to supporting service delivery and security stabilization across the country.
