Christian charity renovates school in Kwerijik

By Simon Deng

The African Evangelical Association has renovated St. Mark Primary School in Kwerjik along the Juba-Terekeka road in a bid to improve the learning atmosphere for learners.

Bush Buse, the chairperson of the organizing committee, said that the African Evangelical Association plans to also establish secondary and tertiary education near St. Mark primary school.

“African Evangelical Association plans also to build a secondary school and university in the community of Kwerijik so that their children can study within their home area rather than going to the neighboring countries for studies,” said Buse in a statement on Tuesday.

He said that qualified teachers are lacking at St.Mark Primary School and that they are in the process of getting these teachers to teach the school.

Ray Mundari, Director of the Deo Volente organization said they will continue to help the people of Kwerijiik in education, health, and peacebuilding.

“The four renovated classrooms will shelter the pupils from the rain while learning, I urge the parents to send their children to school so that they can help their parents in the future,” said Mundari.

Martin Ayom, the chief of Kwerijik, welcomed the church’s initiative, saying that children had previously learned under trees at St.Mark primary school.

Juma Ali Malou, MP representing Terekeka County in the national legislative assembly, urged the Mundari community in Kwerijiik to maintain peaceful coexistence with their counterparts in Terekeka, Tindilo, Tali, and the neighboring communities of Bari and Nyangbara.

“We need education because it brings unity, different communities must allow their children to study in the newly renovated St. Mark primary school in Kwerijik,” said Malou.
