The First Vice President meets the Global Fund and Gavi delegation to discuss improving the health care sector
The first vice president, Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, received in his office a delegation from the Global Fund and Gavi, accompanied by the acting minister of health, Hon. Awut Deng Acuil.
The meeting discussed the need to work collaboratively to improve the health care sector in the country.
The first vice president assured the delegation of his commitment to work together with the cabinet to ensure that the health budget is increased.
Minister Awut appreciated the Global Fund and GAVi for their unwavering support for the people of South Sudan and affirmed the government’s commitment to continue working together with partners to end epidemics.
The Global Fund is an international financing and partnership organization with the goal of attracting, leveraging, and investing more resources to end epidemics of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria.
