Juba, 25th January 2024 — President Salva Kiir Mayardit, on Thursday met with the Executive Director of Community Empowerment and Progress Organization (CEPO), Edmund Yakani, to discuss the roles of civil society organizations in sensitizing civil population and participation in the conduct of the national elections in December 2024.
Mr. Edmund Yakani, commended President Kiir for his firm commitment to conduct free, fair and democratic elections, adding that the civil society will rally behind political leadership to prepare the country for December exercises.
The Activist further called on political leaders to address challenges facing the National Electoral Commission, a necessary prerequisite for the timely conduct of the general elections.
