A 23-year- old man has been sentenced to three years in prison and also fined 52 cows for raping a 15- year-old girl in Koch County of Unity State.
Maj Kulang Nyak Joak, the criminal investigation officer said that the convict raped the girl recently in Koch County near the broder with Mayendit County.
“The man raped the 15- year- old girl and took 20,000 South Sudanese Pounds from the victim, we have already arrested him because he took the in his hands, the local court charged him with 51 cows to be paid to the parents of the girl because he has spoilt the girl and he should marry the girl by force,” Nyak told the Juba Echo on Saturday.
The paramount Chief of Koch County, Matik Puot Wuor said the local court did good to sentence the rapist to three years in prison.
In January 2023, a 28 –year- old man raped a teenager girl and was fined 80 cows in Unity state.
