response to insecurity alleged to the SSPDF and the National Security despite several alarms.

The community gave statement after the head chief of Lobonok survived an attempted assassination at his home on Tuesday.

“Many atrocities have been happening from where the National Security is based, the raping and defilement of girls, we always report and no action is being taken, that’s why we are demanding for them to be replaced by the police,” Noel Matayo the youth leaders of Lobonok community said during the press statement.

He said the 5 years of the security apparatus occupying some areas have become more of a harm then their purpose as cases of killing, rape, defilement and displacement have become the order of the day.

“I think by the replacement of the security/ military by the police will help improve the security situation,” he added.

Dr. Dario Kuron Ladu the Deputy  Chairperson of Lobonok community said the action of some army in Lobonok has lost its meaning and mandate of keeping the security tight and has become more of a problem.

“We are are not against the presence of the army, we are against the indiscipline of the army. The deployment is the governments program,” he said.

He cited despite numerous dialogues, there has not been any improvement in the security making them to loose hope on the leadership.

“The army is becoming the cause of the problems with the citizen. I am sure the leadership of the army will agree with us that this is not the purpose that the army are there, what is happening is that the army should not forget the important role they are deployed for in the area but in our case, this is not the case,” he said.

He said despite several dialogue with the military and their leadership, the action has not come to an end neither did their leaders respond.

“We say we were given deaf ears and this is why this incident is still going on in Lobonok. A lot of dialogue has been going on because this is not an incident that has just happened yesterday. We have talked, discussed, we have reached everywhere the concern authorities and,” he stressed.

Dario said the persistence in the insecurity has forced them to call for a resolution fro the SSPDF to vacate as well as the National Security.

“We are coming here because I think we are fed up and we can no longer wait and see that our people are being killed on daily basis and people being displace on daily basis. We are coming to tell the world that enough is enough and we want peace to come by putting thing straight,” he cited.
