Pennsylvania, United States (July 31, 2023) – The Business Opportunities South Sudan (BoSS) Project has announced plans to convene its first ever engagement on South Sudan in the Washington DC in September this year.
The Project is an indigenous South Sudanese initiative focused on empowering development at home and promoting the country’s vision of taking town to the people.
Headquartered in the United States with emphasis on South Sudan, the initiative engages on agriculture, healthcare, investment and economic opportunities among others. All these are geared towards supporting nation-building.
“As part of diaspora’s contribution to inspiring development at home, we initiated this national project to contribute to the social growth and cushion civil lives across the country,” said Mr. Philip Awan Deng, the Chief Executive Officer of the Initiative.
“The ultimate project will create a viable platform to reconnect South Sudanese globally, boost jobs search, economic prospects and investment opportunities for the Republic of South Sudan. This gives thousands of South Sudanese in the diaspora unlimited access to explore and launch successful businesses and initiatives for the welfare of the country,” he added in his pronouncement remark this week in the Washington DC.
The event slated for September 8th and 9th will attract international investors, global companies, business owners, CEOs, entrepreneurs, key government officials in the US and South Sudan to hold an “informed discussion” on South Sudan and suggest how the areas of intervention can be promoted in the country.
After a decade plus of independence and efforts to attain complete stability, the country has continued to grapple with chronic food shortage, economic issues and infrastructural challenges, that often affect humanitarian and development front.
But Mr. Deng said “Most South Sudanese population in the diaspora who are equipped with skills, experience, and opportunities will have a chance to explore ways to support peace, and stability for the Republic of South Sudan. This will top the agenda throughout the engagement”
The towering partnership is expected to invent new ideas and inspiration of action, while also offering a unique opportunity for networking with global experts in various fields. This is meant at building economic and development opportunities for South Sudan.
