South Sudan’s immigration department has directed the public and the officials at the immigration department to respect the official charges for processing passports and nationality.
Lt. Gen. Atem Marol Biar, the Director General for Civil registry, Nationality, Passport and Immigration echoed this directive on Thursday.
“No one should pay extra fee to acquire passport, nationality or national ID, we have fixed amount of money required to complete the process of acquiring these documents,” Marol added.
The army Gen.warned all the immigration officials and the public not to accept any extra payment except the official charges from any person in the name of facilitating issuance of passports nationality or national ID.
He went on and announced that, South Sudan nationality cost 2050 SSP, National ID for NCOS 2100 SSP, National ID for junior officers 2200 SSP, National ID for senior officers 2300 SSP national ID for civilians 4000 SSP, Regular passports 4500 SSP and Business Passports 30,000 SSP.
“Any person who pays or accept any fees that exceed the above mentioned rates will be prosecuted and imprisoned if found guilty by the court of law,” he warned.
